Water Cuts Tuesday in Lima and Arequipa as Sedapal and Sedapar Publish Detailed Schedules

Preventive maintenance is planned to improve service reliability, with restoration gradual.

  • Sedapal scheduled Nov. 18 service suspensions in four Lima districts for maintenance, covering Barranco, San Miguel, Lurín and Chorrillos with start times ranging from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • District windows in Lima include Barranco from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., San Miguel from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Lurín from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Chorrillos from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Sedapar confirmed a citywide Arequipa shutdown on Nov. 18 from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. to clean and disinfect reservoirs N20 and N20A at the Miguel de la Cuba Ibarra plant.
  • Arequipa’s affected districts include Alto Selva Alegre, Cayma, Cerro Colorado, Mariano Melgar, Miraflores, José Luis Bustamante y Rivero, Paucarpata and Yura, with service returning progressively after works.
  • Utilities cite pipe tie-ins and reservoir cleaning as the reasons for the cuts; Sedapal is deploying tanker trucks in affected Lima areas and Sedapar urged residents to store a prudent water reserve.
