Overview

  • An official Prisons and Probation Ombudsman report, published this month, confirms Hodgson was freed from HMYOI Wetherby on July 3, 2024, bringing the case within its 14-day post-release remit.
  • Toxicology found pregabalin at a concentration above recreational or therapeutic ranges, with cocaine consistent with low or non-recent use and quetiapine at therapeutic levels.
  • The report recounts that the scooter clipped a car and then entered the path of an oncoming Audi near Rushyford; neither Hodgson nor 13-year-old passenger Bobby Grimes was wearing a helmet.
  • The inquest last October recorded misadventure for Hodgson and accident for Grimes, and heard Hodgson was disqualified from driving and intoxicated on pregabalin.
  • Prison records cited ADHD, PTSD and schizophrenia, a cell fire that triggered ACCT suicide and self-harm monitoring on June 29, and pre-release plans for supported housing and community referrals alongside intermittent engagement with substance misuse services.
