Washington, D.C. Shooting Leaves 2 Dead, 5 Injured Near Kennedy Recreation Center

Authorities continue to search for the suspect, described as a Black male with an average build, last seen wearing light pants and a blue shirt.

The shooting occurred early Sunday morning around 3 a.m. at the intersection of 7th and P Streets NW, close to the Kennedy Recreation Center.
Two men were pronounced dead at the scene, while five other victims, including three men and two women, were transported to local hospitals.
Police have not released any information on the condition of the injured victims or disclosed any potential motives for the shooting.
A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.
The incident adds to the rising violent crime rates in Washington, D.C., which have seen a significant increase in recent years.
