Washington Commanders Hire Adam Peters as New General Manager

Peters, a former 49ers executive, steps in to lead the team's football operations amid ongoing search for new head coach.

The Washington Commanders have hired Adam Peters, former San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager, as their new general manager.
Peters, who has won three Super Bowls with New England and Denver, was one of the top candidates available and also drew interest from the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders.
The Commanders are currently searching for a new head coach, with several candidates in the playoff bracket.
Among the potential head coach candidates are Texans OC Bobby Slowik, Cowboys’ DC Dan Quinn, Lions OC Ben Johnson, and Ravens associate head coach/defensive line coach Anthony Weaver.
The Commanders have nearly $87 million in projected salary cap space and the No. 2 pick in the draft, providing Peters with an attractive opportunity to remake the roster.
