Washington Commanders' GM Search Narrows Down to Two

49ers' Adam Peters and Bears' Ian Cunningham are the Finalists, Decision Expected Before Jan. 22

Washington Commanders' search for a new head of football operations is down to two candidates: San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters and Chicago Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham.
Washington managing partner Josh Harris aims to have the new hire in place before teams begin in-person interviews with head coach candidates on Jan. 22.
Both Peters and Cunningham are highly sought-after candidates, with Peters known for his talent evaluation skills and Cunningham for his ability to combine traditional player evaluation with analytics.
Peters turned down GM interview opportunities in Arizona and Tennessee last year, and Cunningham rejected an offer from the Cardinals for their GM opening.
The Washington Commanders also submitted interview requests with seven coaching candidates, but are not expected to explore hiring Bill Belichick.
