Washington AG Sues ‘Bikini Barista’ Owner Over Sex Harassment and Wage Violations

Former employees are being urged to contact the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division.

Overview

  • The civil lawsuit was filed Sept. 18 in King County Superior Court against Jonathan Tagle, Tagle Investments LLC, and Paradise Espresso.
  • Paradise Espresso operates four stands in Tukwila, Monroe, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace, where misconduct is alleged from at least 2012 to November 2024.
  • The complaint describes quid pro quo demands for sexual acts, unwanted touching, orders to visit the owner’s home for sexual favors, and covert recordings of employees changing.
  • State labor claims include failure to pay minimum wage for all hours, withholding tips, unpaid training and off‑the‑clock work, irregular pay schedules, and violations of Washington’s Paid Sick Leave law.
  • The Attorney General seeks a court order halting unlawful conduct, back wages and tips, monetary damages, and recovery of costs, and says the defendants could not be reached for comment.
