• At MIAA Media Day, Washburn men were voted preseason No. 1 by both the coaches and media polls.
• Washburn women were picked No. 2 by MIAA coaches and No. 3 by media, drawing the most first-place votes in the coaches poll.

• Washburn men open Nov. 1–2 at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic against Augusta and Dallas Baptist, with a home opener Nov. 19 vs. Rockhurst.
