Overview
- Lisa Swift, 37, pleaded guilty at Warrington Magistrates’ Court after crashing her Nissan Juke into a stationary Toyota Prius on September 14.
- A breath test showed 119 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, more than three times the 35µg legal limit.
- Her two children and another child were in the car at the time, and none were injured.
- She received eight weeks’ imprisonment suspended for two years, 20 days of rehabilitation activity and a two-year alcohol treatment order, plus a 28-month driving ban and £239 in costs and surcharge.
- Defense cited long-term alcohol dependency and lack of childcare, and the magistrate described the offence as serious given the high reading and presence of children.
