Warren Buffett Donates $870M in Berkshire Hathaway Stock to Family Foundations

Buffett, 93, Assures Shareholders of His Health and Reiterates Commitment to Philanthropy

Warren Buffet donated approximately $870 million in Berkshire Hathaway stock to four family-run foundations ahead of Thanksgiving.
The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation received 1.5 million shares, while The Sherwood Foundation, The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and NoVo Foundation each received 300,000 shares.
Buffett, 93, assured shareholders of his health and reiterated his commitment to donate more than 99% of his wealth to charity.
This is the second consecutive year that Buffett has made additional donations to these foundations around Thanksgiving.
Buffett's three children, who share his views on wealth and philanthropy, will act as executors of his will and trustees of the charitable trust that will inherit his wealth.
