Overview
- Warner Music Group announced this week that it will combine its recorded-music and publishing sync teams into one global unit and promoted Ron Broitman to President of Global Sync.
- Broitman will be based in Los Angeles and report to COO Tom Corson with oversight from Guy Moot, and will lead staff drawn from Warner Chappell, Atlantic Music Group, Warner Records Group and ADA.
- The new unit will centralize creative pitching, marketing, new business development, licensing clearances, administration and data analytics for all WMG sync rights worldwide.
- WMG says the change creates a single point of entry for clients, which it expects will cut turnaround times for clearances and widen pitching reach to place more songs and recordings in film, TV, ads and trailers.
- The move follows recent high-profile placements and a broader industry push to streamline rights clearance, and WMG says Warner Chappell teams will remain embedded to keep direct support for songwriters.
