Warner Bros. Sets Gremlins 3 for October 6, 2028

Positioned for the Halloween box-office window, the change forces a studio slate reshuffle that moves other tentpoles.

Warner Bros. posted an 11-second teaser on Wednesday announcing Gremlins 3 will open in theaters on Oct. 6, 2028 and showing Mogwai imagery.
The film was previously scheduled for Nov. 19, 2027 and the new date represents a near one-year delay from that slot.
Chris Columbus is confirmed as writer-director on the project with Hannah Marks on the current draft and a credited screenplay from Columbus, Zach Lipovsky, and Adam Stein.
Production credits reported name Amblin and 26th Street producers with Steven Spielberg and Eleanor Columbus listed as executive producers, while no public start-of-filming date has been disclosed.
The move pushed other Warner Bros. tentpoles around the calendar, including DC Studios’ Dynamic Duo shifted to Sept. 22, 2028, and positions Gremlins 3 to take advantage of a season better suited to its horror-comedy legacy and practical-puppet expectations.
