Overview

  • Warner Bros. Discovery will cease programming on HBO Family, ThrillerMax, MovieMax and OuterMax on August 15, 2025.
  • The company is paring down its multiplex channels strategy as viewership shifts from linear premium networks to streaming platforms.
  • HBO and Cinemax will retain other multiplex channels including HBO2, HBO Signature, HBO Comedy, HBO Zone, HBO Latino, MoreMax, ActionMax, 5 Star Max and Cinemáx.
  • WBD plans to split into separate Studios & Streaming and Global Networks companies by mid-2026 to streamline operations.
  • Executives project the streaming arm will reach at least 150 million subscribers and generate over $1.3 billion in profit by the end of 2026.
