Warner Bros. Discovery drops HBO Max for broader "Max" streaming service

Warner Bros. Discovery launches Max, a new streaming service combining HBO scripted shows and Discovery reality TV, on May 23.
Max aims to compete with Netflix and Disney by offering a wider range of programming at comparable price points from $9.99 to $19.99 per month.
Existing HBO Max subscribers will have access to Max at the same price, with their profiles, recommendations, and watch history transferring to the new service.
Max will feature HBO content and an original programming roster including Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and DC Comics series.
A standalone Discovery+ streaming app will remain available for $6.99 per month.
