• Olympic champion Rai Benjamin, world record holder Karsten Warholm and Alison dos Santos advanced from the semifinals to set up Friday’s men’s 400m hurdles final in Tokyo.
• Warholm enters in notable form after a 46.28 at the Silesia Diamond League, the third-fastest ever behind his 45.94 world record and Benjamin’s 46.19.
• Benjamin won his semifinal in 47.95 ahead of dos Santos’s 48.16, while Warholm eased to second and said an outside lane in the final “will be fun.”
• Both the men’s and women’s 400m hurdles finals are scheduled for Friday, Day 7 of the World Championships in Tokyo.
