Overview
- Digital Extremes confirmed the December 2026 launch for Warframe: Tau after Friday’s Devstream 198 showed the new Tau Star Chart and two starter locations.
- Tau opens a separate Star Chart hub with two initial regions — Perita and the mafia-run ring city Fornax — and includes a new social area called MANIFOLD 90-BF and a revamped Survival mission on Fornax.
- The update introduces the 67th Warframe, Brysko, voiced by Matthew Mercer, who fights with a Hound companion, signature weapons and a risk-reward ability kit that ties into a single-player cinematic quest.
- Players can earn Brysko through gameplay or instantly unlock him from the Warframe Market, and Digital Extremes will sell new cosmetics such as the Koumei deluxe at launch with a Nezha heirloom slated for early 2027.
- Digital Extremes says the Origin System will keep receiving content while Tau grows as a live-service platform, and the expansion also adds gameplay changes like new Tau damage types and permanent farming spots for older Prime relics that may shift long-term player progression and builds.
