Wangho Sharpens for Jan. 11 Basho After 5–13 Keiko, Vows to Aim Higher

The 25-year-old grandson of Taihō says training has produced tangible strength gains.

  • Year-end training wraps on Dec. 30 and the stable resumes practice on Jan. 3 ahead of the New Year tournament.
  • The January tournament opens Jan. 11 at Ryogoku Kokugikan and will mark his third straight basho in the san'yaku ranks after a 12-win showing last January led to promotion.
