Overview
- London Fire Brigade sent 12 engines and about 80 firefighters to Knebworth Avenue shortly after 2am.
- The fire was brought under control just before 5am after control officers received the first calls shortly before 3am.
- Most of the ground floor, half of the first floor and the roof of the two-storey mid-terrace were destroyed.
- Crews attended from stations across Walthamstow, Chingford, Woodford, Leyton, Tottenham, Edmonton, Homerton, Stratford, Enfield and Holloway, and part of Chingford Road was closed to traffic.
- The cause remains under investigation, and the brigade warns that suspected cannabis factories often contain dangerous illegal wiring and other hazards.
