Overview

  • Walmart plans to roll out four AI super agents—Sparky, Associate, Marty and Developer—as the primary way customers, employees, suppliers and developers interact with its ecosystem.
  • Customer-facing agent Sparky, live in the Walmart app, will evolve to autonomously reorder items, plan themed events and suggest recipes by scanning photos.
  • The Associate agent will centralize tasks like parental leave requests, scheduling and sales-data queries into a single interface for store and corporate staff.
  • For suppliers, sellers and advertisers, the Marty agent will streamline onboarding, order management and ad campaign creation, while the Developer agent will serve as the platform for building and testing future AI tools.
  • Walmart has appointed former Instacart executive Daniel Danker as EVP of AI acceleration, product and design, created a second EVP role in AI platforms that remains open, and is maintaining an open integration approach as job impacts remain unspecified.
