Overview

  • The recall covers Ozark Trail 64-ounce stainless steel insulated bottles, model number 83-662, sold exclusively at Walmart stores and online since 2017.
  • A screw-cap lid defect can cause the cap to forcefully eject when opening after storing beverages, posing serious impact and laceration hazards.
  • The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission received three injury reports, with two consumers suffering permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye.
  • Manufactured in China and imported by Walmart and Olympia Tools International Inc., the bottles retailed for about $15 each.
  • Consumers should immediately stop using the affected bottles and return them to any Walmart location or contact customer service for a full refund.
