Overview
- Walmart’s drone program launched in 2021 in Northwest Arkansas and Dallas-Fort Worth and has since completed more than 150,000 flights.
- This June the service rolls out in Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Orlando and Tampa, extending coverage across Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.
- Operated in partnership with Wing, the drones can travel up to six miles and deliver eligible items in under 30 minutes under size and weight limits.
- Customers can order last-minute essentials—from ice cream and eggs to pet food and medicine—through the drone service at select stores.
- Walmart plans to reach 100 total areas by June 2026, aiming to accelerate deliveries and reduce emissions from traditional last-mile shipping.
