Overview

  • Living members of the Stolen Generations removed in WA before 1 July 1972 will each receive an $85,000 payment.
  • Registrations are slated to begin in the second half of 2025 with disbursements scheduled by year’s end.
  • Western Australia becomes the second-last jurisdiction to offer redress, leaving Queensland as the only state without a scheme.
  • The lump sum amount sits below Victoria’s $100,000 payment but exceeds the amounts previously offered in New South Wales and South Australia.
  • The government will partner with Aboriginal organisations to support communications and healing initiatives during the scheme’s rollout.
