Production starts late 2025 with first cars arriving in the first quarter of 2026.

Overview

  • Sitting atop the GTI range, the Edition 50 uses a retuned 2.0-liter turbo four rated at 325 PS (239 kW) and 420 Nm with a 7-speed DSG and a 270 km/h top speed.
  • The €4,200 Edition 50 Performance Pack adds 235-section Bridgestone Potenza Race semislicks on 19-inch forged Warmenau wheels, a lighter R-Performance exhaust with titanium end mufflers, and a lowered, stiffer suspension with increased front camber, trimming roughly 30 kg.
  • Volkswagen cites a 7:46.13 Nürburgring Nordschleife lap by Benny Leuchter in a near-series car equipped with the Performance Pack, described as the quickest road-legal VW yet.
  • Standard equipment includes DCC adaptive damping, IQ.LIGHT matrix LEDs, 19-inch wheels, and cabin details marking 50 years of GTI, with available colors such as Dark Moss Green Metallic and Tornado Red.
  • Published 0–100 km/h times differ across outlets, with figures of 5.3 seconds and 5.5 seconds both reported.
