Overview
- The stage starts at 13:30 near San Mamés with a neutralized roll-out and a flag drop between Asua and Loiu, and it is slated to reach the Gran Vía around 17:20 via the Euskalduna bridge.
- The Bizkaia route strings together Unbe, Sollube by the south side (7.2 km at 4.2%), Balcón de Bizkaia (4.3 km at 5.4%) and Morga (8.2 km at 3.5%) before two ascents of El Vivero from Galdakao (4.3 km at 8.3%).
- Between the two Vivero climbs the race crosses the Bilbao finish line for a first pass on Gran Vía, then heads through Lezama, Zamudio and Derio toward Sondika for the finale.
- The last climb is Pike Bidea from Sondika (2.3 km at 8.9%, final kilometre at 12%), cresting roughly 8 km from the line, and previews suggest Vivero pacing could determine a breakaway versus peloton outcome.
- Euskalmet forecasts a summery day in Bilbao with highs near 30°C, a clear morning with southerly winds, and more cloud and a northwest breeze later, while host towns outline traffic and parking measures such as closures and fan zones in Los Corrales de Buelna for a later stage.
