Vox Media Sells Popular Policy News Brand NowThis to Nonprofit

Vox Media has spun off NowThis, a viral politics and policy news brand, as an independent company backed by the nonprofit Accelerate Change.
Vox will maintain business ties and a minority stake in the new NowThis company.
NowThis plans to continue its focus on politics, climate change, abortion rights, and gun legislation in partnership with Accelerate Change.
The deal provides Accelerate Change an opportunity to expand into general news coverage ahead of the 2024 election.
