The result could determine whether the MNF regains the numbers required for the leader of opposition post.

Overview

  • Counting started at 8 a.m. on November 14 at the Mamit deputy commissioner complex under tight security with central observers in place.
  • Officials scheduled five rounds of counting, taking up postal ballots first before moving to votes cast in EVMs.
  • There is one counting hall with nine tables, including a dedicated table for postal ballots supervised by designated staff.
  • All EVMs were brought earlier to the counting centre and kept in a strong room under continuous surveillance.
  • The five-way race features candidates from ZPM, MNF, Congress, BJP and PC, following a peaceful November 11 poll in which 83.07% of 20,888 voters participated.
