Vonovia Plans to Construct 3,000 New Apartments by 2025

After a two-year pause, Germany's largest landlord aims to resume and expand its building projects in Germany and Austria.

Vonovia will restart its construction program, planning to initiate projects for 3,000 new apartments by the end of 2025 in cities like Berlin, Vienna, and Salzburg.
The company paused new projects in 2023 and 2024 due to high inflation and increased interest rates but continued ongoing developments.
To reduce construction costs, Vonovia will focus on serially produced buildings and forgo underground garages.
The company has completed 2,400 new apartments in the first nine months of 2024 and plans to increase investments to €1.2 billion in 2025.
Vonovia sees potential for 70,000 new apartments in Germany and Austria, with annual investments projected to reach €2 billion by 2028.
