Overview

  • Edeka stores in North Germany and Netto outlets in East Germany will carry the vacuum-packed Currywurst at launch.

  • In 2024 Volkswagen sold 8.552 million Currywurst units through its canteens and supermarkets, surpassing the core brand’s passenger vehicle deliveries.
  • The Currywurst has been made in Volkswagen’s Service Factory meat processing plant since 1973 and is listed in the company catalog under part number 199398500 A.
  • The supermarket release is designed to accelerate growth of Volkswagen’s food division and introduce the in-house specialty to a broader consumer market.
