Volkswagen Recalls Over 271,000 SUVs for Airbag Defect

Faulty wiring in Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models may deactivate front passenger airbags, posing safety risks.

The recall affects 271,330 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport SUVs from model years 2020 to 2024 in the U.S.
An additional 36,000 vehicles are being recalled in Canada for the same issue.
Owners are advised to avoid using the front passenger seat until repairs are completed.
Volkswagen will replace the defective parts free of charge once they become available.
Notification letters will be sent to affected owners starting August 16.
