Volkswagen Recalls Over 260,000 Vehicles Due to Fuel Leak Risks

The recall targets specific Audi and Volkswagen models to prevent potential fires, with repairs offered at no cost.

Volkswagen is recalling over 260,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to issues with fuel tank suction pumps that could lead to fuel leaks and increase the risk of fires.
The recall affects certain front-wheel drive models of Audi A3 Sedan, Audi A3 Cabriolet, Volkswagen Jetta GLI, Golf Sportwagen, Golf GTI, and Golf A7 from the 2015 to 2020 model years.
Dealers will replace the faulty suction pump free of charge, with owner notification letters expected to be mailed on April 12, 2024.
This recall is a response to 79 complaints from car owners and follows a previous recall in 2016 for a similar issue, indicating ongoing concerns with the fuel tank system.
No fires have been reported due to the defect, but the potential for fuel leaks poses a significant safety risk.
