Volkswagen Rebrands ID.2all as ID. Polo, €25,000 EV Set for 2026 With GTI to Debut at IAA

The shift restores familiar model names to Volkswagen’s electric lineup to bolster recognition and simplify the range.

Overview

  • Volkswagen confirmed the former ID.2all will launch as the ID. Polo, marking a broader move to replace numeric ID labels with legacy nameplates such as Polo, Golf and Tiguan.
  • The camouflaged ID. Polo and the ID. Polo GTI will be shown publicly for the first time at IAA Mobility in Munich next week after a photo-restricted employee preview in Wolfsburg.
  • VW targets an entry price of about €24,990 and plans multiple battery options, with higher trims promising well over 400 km of WLTP range.
  • The small EV family will share a platform across Volkswagen, Škoda and Cupra, with four related models, including a VW SUV variant, scheduled for production in Spain.
  • Market launch is planned for 2026, with a sporty GTI variant around 166 kW to follow, and a roughly €20,000 model currently called ID. Every1 expected in 2027.
