- Volkswagen published official technical details and set the European on-sale date for late April 2026 at a starting price of about €25,000.
- Two battery options are confirmed: a 37 kWh LFP pack rated around 300 km WLTP and 90 kW DC fast charging (10–80% in roughly 27 minutes), and a 52 kWh NMC pack with up to 450 km WLTP and 130 kW DC (10–80% in about 23 minutes).
- Launch power outputs span 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW from a new AP290 front-drive unit, with a higher-performance GTI variant to follow after the initial release.
- The EV measures 4,053 mm by 1,816 mm by 1,530 mm with a 2,600 mm wheelbase, and offers a 435-liter boot and increased interior space versus the petrol Polo.
- A staged rollout begins with today’s specs, an interior reveal in January, and production in Spain, with added driver-assistance tech including an enhanced Travel Assist plus traffic light and stop sign recognition.
