Volker Wissing to Chair New Advisory Board at Christ Capital

The former transport minister's move requires federal cooling-off approval under Paragraph 6a.

Overview

  • Christ Capital announced it has created an advisory board and named Wissing as chair to counsel the owner and management on long-term orientation and investment decisions.
  • The new body is explicitly non-executive and purely advisory, and the group includes the consultancy Joschka Fischer & Company.
  • Under the 18-month rules for former ministers, the Chancellery has been notified for clearance, and no start date has been set.
  • Christ Capital is led by investor Harald Christ, a longtime acquaintance of Wissing from FDP circles in Rhineland-Palatinate who, like Wissing, left the party after the coalition collapse.
  • Wissing left office when the black-red government formed in May 2025, declined an SPD membership offer in April, and says he will contribute his experience to Christ’s group.
