VOLA Launches Crowdfunding After Copenhagen Storage Fire Destroys Gear

The crowdfunder aims to replace essential gear to quickly restore a minimal live setup.

Overview

  • A fire at the Nettolager facility in Copenhagen last week destroyed the section containing VOLA’s storage unit, with no injuries reported.
  • Losses span instruments, touring rigs, audio and monitoring systems, recording equipment, merchandise, vinyl and years of custom-built infrastructure described as irreplaceable.
  • The band says crew members lost essential tools, and rebuilding even a minimal live rig would let the front-of-house team keep working.
  • A GoFundMe is live to fund replacement gear and live-system rebuilds, and supporters can also donate via PayPal at mail@volaband.com.
  • As of Monday, the campaign had raised kr 364,100 toward a kr 1,000,000 goal from roughly 1,200 donations, according to MetalSucks, and the band urges fans to donate, buy tickets or merch, or share the link.
