Overview
- VodafoneThree named Ericsson and Nokia as key suppliers on eight-year contracts worth more than £2 billion.
- Ericsson, the primary vendor, disclosed a 12.5 billion Swedish crowns (about $1.3 billion) share and will modernise 4G and 5G at over 10,000 sites.
- Nokia will provide radio access and core network equipment to roughly 7,000 sites in a return as a UK supplier to the combined operator.
- The rollout covers technology upgrades at more than 17,000 sites, brings in four UK infrastructure partners, and is expected to create up to 13,000 roles largely outside London and the South East.
- The procurement supports VodafoneThree’s decade-long £11bn investment programme and is viewed as a lift for Ericsson and Nokia during a market slowdown and US tariff pressure.
