Swedish Skier Sara Hector Leads, Shiffrin Aims for Record Six Overall World Cup Titles

Slovakian skier Petra Vlhova, a main rival of Mikaela Shiffrin, suffered a season-ending knee injury during a World Cup giant slalom race in Jasna, Slovakia.
Vlhova crashed into the safety netting early in her run and was airlifted to a hospital for examinations.
Swedish skier Sara Hector posted the fastest time in the race, beating Shiffrin by one second.
Federica Brignone, who led the GS standings coming into the race, also fell but was unhurt.
Shiffrin is aiming to match the women’s record of six overall World Cup titles.
