VK's MAX Messenger Opens Messaging and Calls to Seven More CIS Countries
The rollout prioritizes contact verification to create a safer, more trusted network.
Overview
- Residents of Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan can now register, send messages and make calls in MAX.
- New users download the app, choose their country, enter a phone number, confirm an SMS code and consent to contact synchronization.
- Communication requires that conversation partners’ numbers are in each other’s contact lists, or one user can share an invite link if they are not.
- Account security can be strengthened with optional two-factor authentication enabled in the profile’s Privacy section.
- MAX remains in beta, supports voice calls, voice messages and file transfers up to 4 GB, is available via the App Store, Google Play and RuStore, and is developed by VK’s subsidiary Communication Platform.
