Overview
- vivo confirmed that OriginOS 7 will be unveiled at its vivo Developer Conference on September 16 and that the new skin is built on Android 17.
- The company is pitching a 'liquid glass' visual language with liquid-style animations, Liquid Themes for the lockscreen, a system-wide sticker library and an Atomic Workbench for standard phones.
- vivo says OriginOS 7 includes architecture changes — an upgraded Blue River Smooth Engine, reworked memory management and a Virtual Graphics Card 4.0 — aimed at improving graphics, app responsiveness and display effects.
- Company-provided benchmarks claim up to 14% better graphics rendering, 12% faster app startup, 19% quicker page switching and about 20% lower power use during UI animation, while Storage Compression 2.0 is said to free as much as 20GB on a 256GB phone; these figures are vendor claims and await independent verification.
- vivo will also introduce BlueOS 4 for wearables and IoT at the same event and is expected to give full device support and rollout timing then, with the X500 series hardware launch likely to follow later in September.
