Viva Raw Recalls Select Dog and Cat Foods Over Possible Salmonella, Listeria Contamination

Routine North Carolina testing identified a contamination risk that triggered an FDA-posted alert.

Overview

  • The voluntary recall covers two lots: 21495 for beef products and 21975 for chicken-based foods across six Viva Raw offerings.
  • Affected items were sold as frozen 1‑pound bricks with lot numbers printed on top, purchased between July 2 and August 21.
  • Products were shipped directly to customers nationwide and to retailers in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, New York and South Carolina.
  • No illnesses in pets or humans linked to these lots have been reported to date, according to the recall notice.
  • Customers are urged to stop use, dispose of the food safely, sanitize bowls and storage containers, and contact Viva Raw for refunds.
