Vito the Pug Makes History as 2024 National Dog Show Champion

The 2.5-year-old pug from North Carolina is the first of his breed to win Best in Show since the competition was first televised in 2002.

Vito triumphed over approximately 2,000 dogs representing 205 breeds at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center Pennsylvania.
The pug first secured the Toy Group title before competing against six other group winners for Best in Show.
Vito's handler, Michael Scott, praised the dog’s compact build, movement, and expressive features, which impressed the judges.
The Welsh Terrier named Verde was awarded Reserve Best in Show, earning second place in the competition.
The National Dog Show, hosted annually since 1933 and televised since 2002, aired on NBC following the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
