Vistex CEO Dies in Stage Accident at Company Event

Sanjay Shah fell from an iron cage during a celebration in India, leading to his death and leaving the company's president in critical condition.

Sanjay Shah, CEO of Illinois-based software firm Vistex, died after falling from an iron cage during a company event in Hyderabad, India.
Shah and Vistex President Vishwanath Raju Datla were being lowered onto the stage in the cage when a wire snapped, causing them to fall 15-20 feet.
Shah succumbed to his injuries while Datla remains in critical condition.
Vistex was celebrating its 25th anniversary at the time, with nearly 700 people in attendance.
Police in India are investigating the incident, including potential negligence on the part of the event venue, Ramoji Film City studios.
