Vista Man Held on Suspicion of Killing 80-Year-Old Relative Ahead of Friday Arraignment

Detectives call the case isolated with no outstanding suspects.

Deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to a reported battery at a home in the 2100 block of Riviera Drive in unincorporated Vista.
They found Linda Johnson, 80, of Arizona with traumatic injuries, and she died at a hospital the next day.
Tad Christopher Johnson, 55, was arrested at the home and booked into jail on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody without bail pending an arraignment scheduled for Friday afternoon.
