Visitation Begins for Chicago Fire Captain as Investigation into Fatal Arson Continues

  • Community members, led by Alderman Jim Gardiner, have tied red ribbons along a three-mile stretch of North Milwaukee Avenue to honor Meyer, with pink ribbons displayed at the funeral home at the family’s request.
  • Meyer was commemorated earlier on Workers Memorial Day with his name added to a fallen firefighter memorial wall at the Union Stock Yard Gate.
