Virginia Woman Arrested for Impersonating Nurse at California Hospitals

Amanda Leeann Porter faces felony charges after allegedly using false identities to work at multiple hospitals without a nursing license.

Amanda Leeann Porter, 44, is accused of impersonating a nurse at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in California.
Porter allegedly oversaw the care of approximately 60 patients between April and May 2024 using the identity of a registered nurse from another state.
She was arrested on November 7, 2024, and charged with identity theft, false impersonation, and grand theft, and is currently held without bail.
Porter is on federal probation for a previous fraud conviction in Virginia, where she admitted to similar offenses involving identity theft.
Authorities believe Porter may have committed similar crimes in other medical facilities in Southern California over the past year.
