Virginia Running Back Perris Jones Discharged from Rehabilitation Center
Jones to Continue Recovery in Charlottesville After Spinal Injury
- Perris Jones, the Virginia running back who suffered a spinal cord injury during a game three weeks ago, has been discharged from a Louisville rehabilitation center.
- Jones was injured on a helmet-to-helmet hit after catching a pass in the Nov. 9 game against Louisville and underwent spinal surgery the next day.
- Jones thanked doctors, aides, therapists, Louisville and Virginia communities, coaches and teammates for their support as he pushed to recover.
- Jones was walking without difficulty on Tuesday and was seen in videos released by the hospital doing agility exercises.
- Jones will return to Charlottesville to continue his rehab.
