• Virginia State Police said they arrested 56-year-old Daniel E. Pompell on Friday and charged him with one count of murder in Sylena Jo Dalton’s 1998 killing.
• Pompell, Allyson’s biological father, was taken into custody without incident and is being held without bond.
• Dalton, 20, was found stabbed in her Strasburg apartment on July 27, 1998, and her 10-week-old daughter, Allyson Kathleen Dalton, disappeared that day.
• Investigators have long said they believe the killer abducted Allyson, who would be 27 today and was the subject of age-progression images released in 2017.
