Overview
- A social-media video posted Wednesday reportedly shows three major effects failing on Monsters Unchained: Frankenstein’s motionless animatronic, a darkened Dracula scene, and a nonworking hunchback bell.
- Guests and forum posts say Monsters Unchained has suffered repeated problems since Epic Universe opened in May 2025, including preshow glitches, stationary figures, and missing effects that change the intended ride experience.
- Reporting notes other Epic Universe attractions have logged recurring downtime, with guests naming Donkey Kong Mine-Cart Madness, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, and Hiccup’s Wing Gliders as examples of technical interruptions.
- Universal Orlando has not publicly announced a permanent fix for the specific failures shown in the Oct. 28 video, and outlets say the company has not detailed long-term repairs for the broader pattern of outages.
- For visitors this means higher odds of missing key scenes on costly vacations and a need to check the Universal app, prioritize must-do rides, and expect more communication about reliability going forward.
