The shelter's unusual marketing strategy was a stark contrast to Eddie's original adoption flyer, which described him as 'very sweet once he makes friends with you.'
Eddie's new owners, Linda Brooks and her daughter Taryn, drove 140 miles from Cleburne to Wichita Falls to adopt him.
Since the adoption, Eddie's new owners have set up a Facebook page for him, titled 'Ahole Eddie,' which has garnered over 33,000 followers and promotes adopting from shelters instead of buying pets from breeders.
