Overview
- The International Academy announced nominations on Wednesday, Sept. 23, naming Vir Das’s Netflix special Fool Volume in the Comedy category and SonyLIV’s Real Kashmir Football Club in Drama Series.
- With this nod, Das becomes the first Indian performer to receive three International Emmy nominations, after a 2021 nomination for For India and a 2023 win for Landing.
- Fool Volume premiered on Netflix in July 2025, was shot across Mumbai, London and New York, and was reworked after Das lost his voice shortly before filming, a setback that shaped the special’s themes and performance style.
- Real Kashmir Football Club earned India’s scripted-series nomination for its portrayal of the Jammu and Kashmir club’s rise, with stars and creators publicly celebrating the recognition on social media.
- Winners will be announced at the 54th International Emmy Awards gala in New York on November 23, 2026, and the nominations are expected to boost global visibility for Indian comedy and streaming dramas.
