  • Four masked men stormed Shree Ganesh Jewellers in Chermside on June 10, smashing display cabinets with hammers and metal bars during an armed robbery.
  • Bijaya Sunar, the 38-year-old owner, was struck repeatedly in the head and underwent emergency surgery for a brain haematoma.
  • Investigators released CCTV stills and appealed for public assistance to identify the suspects seen fleeing in a stolen grey Honda CR-V (QLD reg 495ZJW).
  • At about 2am on June 13, thieves rammed a vehicle into Gladstone Central Plaza and made off with a large quantity of jewellery.
  • Less than an hour later, two masked men used a hammer to break into a Tannum Sands tobacconist and set it alight as detectives probe links to the Brisbane and May 8 Lutwyche robberies.
