Security forces, including the Rapid Action Force, used tear gas shells to disperse the protesters, who attempted to storm the Superintendent of Police's office.
Mobile internet services in Churachandpur have been suspended for five days, and Section 144 has been imposed to prevent further violence.
The ongoing violence in Manipur stems from ethnic tensions between the Kuki-Zo tribes and the Meitei community, leading to over 200 deaths and thousands displaced since May 2023.
